How to program your Baofeng Ham Radio

This is an updated guide to programming the Baofenf UV-5R radios. The words in quotes are what the radio says if you have it set to speak in English. Example: To Program a repeater 146.985, -600 KHz offset, 100 Hz tone, low power, into channel #010

    Use the up and down arrow keys to select: 5.0K
[MENU] “confirm” [EXIT]
[MENU] “menu” 2 [MENU] “power"
   Use the up and down arrow keys to select: LOW
[MENU] “confirm” [EXIT]
[MENU] “menu” 5 [MENU] “channel bandwidth"
   Use the up and down arrow keys to select: WIDE
[MENU] “confirm” [EXIT]
[MENU] “menu” 1 3 [MENU] “CTCSS"
   Use the up and down arrow keys to select: 100HZ
[MENU] “confirm” [EXIT]
[MENU] “menu” 28 [MENU] “delete channel"
   Enter 010 (or use the up and down arrow keys to select it)
[MENU] “confirm” [EXIT]
[VFO/MR] "frequency mode” (if it says “channel mode” press [VFO/MR] again)
Enter the receive frequency: 146985
